john lofgren bootmaker military desert boots are inspired by the originals made for south african and british soldiers in cairo during wwII. desert boots became very popular in america from the 1950s when everyone from farmers to beatniks were wearing them. in the uk they got fame with the mods culture from the 1960s to the 1980s. and they are still the ultimate smart casual boot that's lightweight and insanely comfortable. and versatile to wear: pair them with denim, chinos, military style pants or even with shorts.
john lofgren himseld also is a big fan of these boots, but he wanted to create a more robust yet lightweight version of a desert boot that is completely ethical and better made than what has been standard so far. these jlb made boots feature japanese-tanned cow suede, genuine crepe soles, and a stitchdown construction. the stitchdown construction is part of the legendary comfort of the desert boot, allowing the shoe to mold completely to your foot. double-needle stitching has been added to high-stress areas of the boots for greater longevity.
