the type a-1 flight jacket is a true classic and was originally issued to usaac (united states army air corps) pilots in 1927. original a-1 flight jackets were made from capeskin but during the transition from type a-1 to a-2, there were many different types of leather used. the type a-1 real mccoy mfg. co. is handmade by a small team of specialists in the kobe headquarter using the best horsehide that is produced exclusively for the real mccoy's by the shinki tannery.
