ues | summer flight jacket olive
the summer flight jacket is ues’ contemporary take on the usn summer flying jacket m-421a. introduced in the 1930s, the m-421a was a lightweight flight jacket for heat protection locally provided by the usn and usmc. later, it was revised to conform a common model for the army and navy at the end of wwii. these were mainly used in the southwest pacific theater, and their existent numbers are extremely small today. ues’ interpretation is made in japan from a high-density denim, which also is used for the brand’s traveler shirts. the brass double ring on the side of the left chest pocket flap is intended to be used as a sunglasses holder.
