the steel gang sw (storm welt) boots by john lofgren bootmaker are named after the men who laid down railroad tracks in the early 20th century during the californian "lumber rush" to better transport the heavy logs with trains. the boots in classic worker style are heavily built for both protection and long wear, but without sacrificing comfort. with age and wear, the light leather from the famous badalassi carlo tannery in tuscany will darken and develop a unique patina. the break-in is similarly quick, taking the shape of your foot with ease and molding into the most comfortable fit. all john lofgren bootmaker shoes are built in japan by highly skilled craftsmen and women with great attention to detail.
