inspired by the classic harrington jacket, the all-weather swing jacket was originally developed in 1945 for golfers as a practical - as the name suggests – jacket for all weathers. the lightweight but durable and water-repellent cotton rayon twill made the jacket so versatile to wear that it became increasingly popular beyond the golf sports in the 1950s and 1960s. james dean wore a swing jacket in rebel without a cause and steve mcqueen one in the thomas crown affair.
the real mccoy's meticulously analyzed an original jacket from the 1950s and created an exact reproduction in terms of design, details, and fabric composition. this jacket will beautifully age when the cotton surface will fade to reveal a silken finish, as with the vintage design.
