the m-65 field jacket was - as the name suggests - first issued to soldiers of the us army in 1965 and has since become a true classic and style icon. robert de niro wore a m-65 in taxi driver and thanks to götz george’s role as detective horst schimanski the jacket was used to be known as the “schimanski jacket” in germany. the "coat, man's, field, m-65 / early model" is the mother of all m-65 jackets and was produced for only 1 year, from 1965 to 1966, making it especially sought after. it can be distinguished from later versions by the absence of epaulettes and its lighter, less saturated olive drab outer shell.

compared to previous 1st pattern models from the real mccoy's, this model utilizes an entirely new pattern that improves the effectiveness of the action pleat back, providing exceptional mobility and fit. the four, deep front pockets can be closed with a heavy-duty press stud and the same can be found along the jacket opening, above the concealed, sewn-in zipper cover and bespoke mccoy hardware. internal urea buttons are provided to attach a quilted liner and velcro is provided on the collar to close, and on the flapped cuff which can be folded out in cold weather conditions.

this is truly a better-than-perfect versions of the original m-65 first pattern.
