this western-style down vest by joe mccoy is based on vintage vests from the 1960s being popular with ranchers and mountaineers across the american west. it's made in japan from roughout leather, a preferred material by cowboys for its durability and resistance to abrasion. to further improve durability, this down vest benefits from leather-reinforced press studs and felled seams to prevent tearing at the armhole and side. the western silhouette yoke is fabricated in seal brown horsehide leather. between the cowhide outer and nylon lining is a thick layer of french duck down insulation to create a very warm layering piece.
